From the Dean


The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alabama in Huntsville offers Master of Arts degrees in four areas: English, History, Psychology (empirically based, not clinically based), and Public Affairs. Teacher certification programs are available in Biology, Chemistry, English, English as a Second Language, History, Mathematics and Physics. Options for certificate programs in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) as well as Technical Communication are available through the English graduate program.

The College of Liberal Arts offers graduate students an opportunity to study with faculty who are genuinely interested in the development of students to benefit their particular disciplines and society. Faculty are consistently engaged in scholarly pursuits, including empirical studies, literary criticism, critical analysis, and applications of theory and research findings to public settings or the workplace. Faculty welcome collaboration with students in both teaching and research.
