Dean: Dr. John D. Fix From the Dean The College of Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville offers Master's degrees in Atmospheric Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Materials Science. The College offers Ph.D.s in Applied Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science, and Optical Science and Engineering. The faculty of the College have vigorous research programs
and are awarded nearly $20 million in annual research funding. Graduate
students are routinely involved in faculty research projects. Approximately
100 graduate students are supported as research assistants on faculty
grants and contracts. Many of the research projects involving graduate
students are collaborations with NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and
Redstone Arsenal (both of which are close to campus), and high-tech
companies in Cummings Research Park (the nation's second largest) which
is located next to the campus. UAH offers unusual opportunities for
graduate students to be involved in research at the frontiers of science
and technology. |
