Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering
and Engineering Management
Department Chair: Dr. James Swain The Program ISEEM departmental graduate programs are available both on campus and by distance learning. Our large and active graduate programs are about equally divided between on campus and distance learning students. Graduate programs available include the following options of the Master of Science in Engineering: Engineering Management The Master of Science in Operations Research (M.S.O.R.) is primarily for graduate students with an interest in operations research, that is, the solution of real-world problems through diverse methods, techniques, tools, and algorithms. The M.S.O.R. program is concerned with optimization, stochastic systems analysis, and operations research applications. Areas of application include large-scale systems analysis, analysis of urban socioeconomic systems, and management sciences. This program is open to students with mathematics or science backgrounds who do not have an engineering undergraduate degree. Admission Requirements All options require a 3.0 grade point average from
an ABET accredited program and a score of 1500 or more on the Graduate
Record Examination for unconditional admission. The Engineering Management
Option also has a requirement of two years of engineering or related
experience in an organization with a US base of operations. Applicants
who do not have the above requirements will be considered for admission
with conditions that will depend on the student's record. International
students must have a minimum score of 250 on the computerized TOEFL
examination or 600 on the written TOEFL exam. |
