From the Dean

Engineering is the profession that translates scientific thought into reality. For those interested in graduate level engineering programs and research, there can be no better place than the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. UAH is a key participant in one of the nation's major centers for advanced technological research, and this community, combined with a highly qualified faculty, provides unique and challenging educational and research opportunities for advanced engineering studies.

The College has seven ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in five departments: Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering (including Optical), Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Three advanced degrees are offered: the Master of Science in Engineering, the Master of Science in Operations Research, and the Doctor of Philosophy. Many areas of specialization are available for graduate study; see individual department pages for details. Specialized M.S.E. programs of study are also available to meet a company's specific needs.

The faculty of the College are actively involved in research areas which are at the cutting edge of technology, and graduate students routinely have the opportunity to participate in exciting discoveries which will benefit the world of tomorrow. Our faculty and graduate students play an important role in the College of Engineering in collaborations with NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the Army Aviation and Missile Command, high-tech companies, and other government agencies located in the nation's second largest research park.

To be in the forefront of technological change requires a dedication to intensive study as well as to the profession of engineering. The College of Engineering can provide you with the opportunity to meet your personal and professional goals.
